We’re just under three months away from the D23 Expo 2019 in Anaheim, where we will be unveiling more of our transformative plans for Epcot. To whet your appetite, here are three things to look forward to.

Your theme park fun takes an extra leap when popular experiences, characters and fountains come together, pushing the limit beyond the regular park hours. And you will end up with another more thrilling and spectacular round of entertainment before leaving the park. For Universal guests, it’s time to make their day at the park even more special, stretching the thrills and fun further into the nights. Debuting this summer, the brand new “Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration” night-time show promises to take your theme park lagoon experience to the next level. Located right in the heart of the lagoon, the new show adds a unique way to cap off your most memorable day at the Park.
Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration in Universal Studios Florida section of the Resort presents a new approach to the night-time spectaculars that the resort has to offer. The new show comes in place of an old rapid-fire show that celebrated a century of movies from Universal Pictures. With the new show now the emphasis is shifted to popular theme park experiences and blockbuster films. We have a new storyline featuring several franchises associated with the Resort, including favourite characters such as Harry Potter, the Fast & Furious family, the dinosaurs of Jurassic World, the yellow Minions and more.
When it comes to water projections, the new night-time show is quite a draw. There will be over 120 dancing fountains with projection mapping, including multiple panoramic water screens with pyrotechnics. The entire area, including lagoon and surrounding buildings will transform into an epic cinematic celebration. Where you will encounter iconic movie moments from popular film series such as the Harry Potter series, The Fast & the Furious, Despicable Me and many others.
Universal is also offering an all-new, dedicated viewing area from where you will watch the lagoon comes to life. A total of about 6500 guests will be able to stand and enjoy the show from the special viewing area popularly known as the Central Park. The new show is about 20 minutes in length, and for the first time features longer segments with special blocks of about 2 minutes in length. When it comes to the associated soundtrack, there will be movie scores primarily and also you will get to hear pop music on certain instances.
Universal Orlando’s Cinematic Celebration show will run on select nights starting this summer. So get ready to be a part of an epic cinematic celebrations under the night skies of Universal Orlando Resort. The dessert experience is getting even more magical at Magic Kingdom now. As the fan favorite Fireworks Dessert Party hosted by the Park is now followed by another brand new After Fireworks Dessert Party, starting May 28, 2018. Truly, it’s great to see the fun continues even after you have done with the legendary fireworks over Cinderella Castle. From the special fireworks viewing area in the Plaza Garden, you can now head over to Tomorrowland terrace Restaurant for a delicious dessert experience with an array of all-you-care-to-enjoy desserts.
The all new Dessert Party comes with unique menu options, featuring treats inspired by each of the lands of Magic Kingdom. Among the top menu highlights include Ooey Gooey Toffee Cakes (Liberty Square), S’mores Action Station (Frontierland), Pineapple Delights (Adventureland), Macato ns (Fantassyland), Strawberry Tarts (Main Street U.S.A.), and Cookie Table (Tomorrowland). Also there is more than just desserts at the new dessert party. One can go for savoury snacks, such as cheese cubes, spinach dip with crackers, home-made mini egg-rolls, and fresh fruits. In the beverages section you can have sparkling apple juice, tea, coffee and milk as well.
The new After Fireworks Dessert Party allows you to enjoy extended park hours on select dates and comes to you at a prices of about $69 per adult and about $41 per child (ages 3-9). It includes special viewing area in the Plaza Garden for the Happily Ever After Fireworks, and delicious desserts, and snacks at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Also it’s to be noted in advance that the party is offering special themed holiday treats and holiday fireworks on July 3-4 and on select nights during the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. If speculations and references are to be believed then we have a much bigger Universal Orlando in near future. There are some major new additions and attractions coming to Universal Orlando Resort. First it’s the most speculated idea of a fourth theme park and now a new Pokémon park. With reference to anonymous Universal sources and a Theme Park University blogger, WFTV revealed that the new Pokémon Park is indeed coming to the Resort. Thanks to the never-ending arms race between Universal and Disney World parks. Coz it’s the constant urge for getting bigger and better that triggers the creation of newer and more immersive family fun experiences.
The Pokémon Park is coming to Universal Orlando soon. Pokémon is seen as a perfect opportunity for Universal to strengthen its ability to attract even bigger crowd now. Pokémon Franchise (that includes the video game, TV show and its different media versions) has been ruling the hearts of millions for generations. The popular video game franchise is said to be located at the Universal’s Kid-Zone section. It will share the same neighborhood with Woody Woodpecker and Barney. Also according to sources, the Kid-Zone area is originally slated to be home to a Mario Kart and a Donkey Kong roller coaster. But now the respective attractions will have the fourth Universal Orlando Park as their new home.
Along with a fourth theme park and Pokémon there will be a Nintendo themed park as well. Nintendo is going to be one of the many themed lands to be built at the new 400 acre Universal property (the so-called fourth theme park). Nintendo holds the trademark for Pokémon. And the inclusion of a new Pokémon theme park in an existing Universal Studios theme park is cited as the Resort’s plan to distribute Nintendo out to all the Universal properties, similar to the Harry Potter world.
At present Universal is involved in a lawsuit with the former owner of the property. Universal had acquired the hundreds of acres property in 2015. However, the former owner argues that he still holds rights to enforce private deed restrictions, and that includes a ban of theme parks. The lawsuit is expected to take a year to resolve.
For Universal fans it’s mostly a waiting game for now. Of course we have the Fast and Furious – Supercharged ride is opening this spring itself. Followed by the Aventura Hotel, opening in August this year. Moreover, there is a new Harry Potter roller coaster ride opening in 2019 at Islands of Adventure. Pokémon is expected to open by 2020. The Super Nintendo World is set to open first in Japan and Hollywood, followed by Orlando in 2023.
If you are a Florida resident and planning to visit Universal Parks on or before June 28, 2018, you can save some more on your universal studios tickets. The Resort is offering the locals a sweet ticket deal, which is available on sale until April 30, 2018. Residents can buy a pack of four tickets for $165 (for single park passes) or choose to have a $205 (for a two park passes). And the more exciting part is you don’t have to use it on consecutive days.
