the NBA Experience - Disney Springs

It’s true that Basketball fans will soon be enjoying their favorite game of sport with the Mouse. The NBA Experience is coming to Disney Springs in the summer of 2019. The all-new one-of-a-kind NBA Experience is replacing the recently shut down DisneyQuest attraction (closed on July 3, 2017). And while the old DisneyQuest building is getting demolished, we have exciting revelations to share about an upcoming attraction. Just take a look at the concept art by Disney and it will tell a lot about an experience full of energy and entertainment. The entire area is transforming into a massive, state-of-the-art sporting and entertainment structure, inspired by the architecture and design of modern NBA arenas around the country.

Thanks to the Disney creators in taking the basketball experience to the next level. The newly designed building is expected to be a flawless and fun connect to the NBA like never before, featuring interactive games and competitions, immersive experiences, a retail store, and an adjacent NBA restaurant. It promises to combine the magic of both Disney and NBA for the first time. Truly, the new NBA attraction is another initiative on part of the company in taking forward its biggest ever transformation of Disney Springs. The NBA Experience will surely add on to the spirit and energy to the West Side area of Disney Springs. For more on NBA Experience you can visit the Disney parks blog.

The decision to include NBA as one of Disney World attractions is not new. There were announcements on this back in the 2015 when the company reveals plans of closing DisneyQuest and replacing it with the new NBA Experience. Today, the NBA project is speculated as one of Disney’s largest ever initiative in creating branded experiences as well. Universal Orlando has taken a lead already in this regard when they opened a branded experience for NBC’s Tonight Show, namely the ride attraction – Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The NBA’s association with Orlando theme parks is not new. It was a part of Universal’s City Walk as the NBA City restaurant. Also when Universal CityWalk was first opened, NBC (now a part of Universal) owned the NBA’s broadcast rights. At present those broadcast rights are property of Disney-owned ABC. And so is the new NBA Experience is coming to Disney now.

You will see each of the Hogwarts four houses come to life with their own unique stories.

Given the popularity of The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle show in the West Coast, the response is expected to go even further at the new Orlando version of the show.
